On Tuesday night, Filipino boxing legend and now the WBA Super World Welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and the undefeated boxing legend Floyd "Money" Mayweather trades bards using their official social media accounts. The spat immediately trended and attracted boxing fans who instantly assumed that a Pacquiao-Mayweather rematch is looming on the horizon. But, if the rematch is going to happen, boxing analysts say that Manny Pacquiao is still the underdog.

While the fans of the Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquaio are proud of the feat that he showed during his recent bout with Keith Thurman, the oddsmakers think otherwise; at least not as it relates to the prospect of Manny beating Mayweather in a possible rematch. Floyd Mayweather, according to MyBookie.ag is at present a minus -260 favorite over Manny Pacquiao who is plus -200 underdog.

Before the Pacquaio vs. Thurman fight, One Time was the favorite, but three weeks before the fight night, a dramatic shift in the odds happened, and Pacquaio became the favorite. During the fight, the Pac-Man was minus -160 favorite to defeat Thurman. Despite being less active in the ring and much older, it is interesting to note that Floyd is even a bigger favorite than Manny. The odds in favor of the American boxer prove a couple of things.

Oddsmakers still believe in Floyd Mayweather notwithstanding his inactivity and older age. Also, there is a great amount of stock placed on Floyd's unanimous decision win over Pacquiao during their fight last May 2015. While Floyd is not expected to stop Manny Pacquiao, oddsmakers believe he is a minus 135 favorite to win by the decision with the plus -450 odds of winning by stoppage.

Pacquiao's interesting win over Thurman put him in a position to fight the winner of the fight between the IBF champion Errol Spence and the WBC champion Shawn Porter. The fight is scheduled on September 28, 2019, where the winner will hold half of the four 147-pound titles with Manny Pacquiao and WBO champion Terrence Crawford.

Many expect that Errol Spence will defeat Shawn Porter in the upcoming fight although Spence is not the favorable opponent for the Filipino boxer. He is much younger and bigger than Pacquiao, the same concerns brought up prior to Manny Pacquiao's fight with Keith Thurman. But, the possibility of danger appears to be more extreme if Spence defeats Porter.

At this point in Manny Pacquiao's career, he must be smart to look for fights that will enable him to increase his earning potential. The financial benefit of fighting Errol Spence pales in contrast to a Mayweather rematch. If Manny Pacquiao fights Mayweather once again, there is a lower risk of injury.
