The cast of NCIS: New Orleans is about to get bigger this season. It has been confirmed that two new characters are joining the cast in NCIS: New Orleans Season 6. The first character is expected to bring in the emotional side of Cassius Pride. However, the second character might mean trouble for Christopher Lasalle.
According to Parade, film veteran Joanna Cassidy is set to reprise her role as Cassius Pride's mother in NCIS: New Orleans Season 6. Pride's mother was previously shown during one of his hallucinations in the Season 5 finale. As it turns out, Pride will be taking a leave from work after his ordeal with Apollyon in the previous season. Interestingly, executive producer Christopher Silber revealed that Pride's mother "is someone struggling with mental illness" and that "she had a breakdown years ago that she never fully recovered from."
"We are going to delve into that past and learn how she got that way. That is part of the journey Pride will be going on through the season," Silber explained. This could mean that Cassius Pride will still have a lot to deal with, although he is taking a break from the team. Unfortunately, this could also mean that he won't be around to help Christopher Lasalle deal with his problems.
The second cast member who will join NCIS: New Orleans Season 6 is Eddie Cahill, but his character's name has not yet been revealed. Interestingly, the CSI: New York alum will reportedly be connected to Christopher Lasalle's brother Cade in the upcoming season. Cahill is expected to appear in several episodes, which means that his story arc could last until the end of the sixth season. In addition to that, he could butt heads with Lasalle because of Cade.
It has already been confirmed that Cade has been in trouble in the past, but Christopher Lasalle has seen that his brother is finally getting his life back on track. But is everything working out as perfectly as the brothers have hoped for? Lasalle could discover that something isn't quite right and it could lead him straight into some trouble with Eddie Cahill's character.
With Cassius Pride away to deal with his family matters, Christopher Lasalle might have some difficulties helping his brother with his problems. It could mean that something truly exciting and emotional will be happening later this year. Find out when NCIS: New Orleans Season 6 premieres on CBS on September 24.
