With the success of Love Island Australia comes Love Island Australia Season 2. Everything is set for the second season's arrival after the casting call and description of new Islanders coming. As the show is expected to come soon, here is everything we know so far.
Channel Nine has started the casting call for the new season to look for new contenders that are looking for love. The aspirants will escape the cold and live on a tropical island for a little while as they find the right man or woman for them. This is also the perfect medium to be known as a television personality and gain a cult following on social media.
The reality show is looking for singles across Australia who are interested in being like Grant Crapp and Taylar Damir someday. Last year, the winners took home the $50,000 prize money, while Eden Dally and Erin Barnett finished as runners up.
"Once again, our Islanders will take up residence in a spectacular luxury villa in the hope of finding love," the casting site read. "But to stay on the island, they need to couple up - and more importantly - win the hearts of the public."
Meanwhile, a television insider told radio host Kyle Sandilands, and Jackie casting agents believed Love Island Australia Season 2's lineup would be much better compared to the previous season. KIIS FM's resident medical expert Dr. Sam Hay even revealed that his wife, who helps to produce the show, is impressed by the new contenders so far.
When Kyle asked Sam about the looks of the new cast, he said it is "twice as good as last year." However, it is only based on their looks, as they haven't had the chance to talk to them yet.
Aside from looks, the new Islanders are also hot - both men and women. There are also interesting characters coming to the new season.
So where will be the new season located? Daily Mail Online noted Channel Nine producers wanted to film Love Island Australia Season 2 in tropical Fiji. However, the Fijian government didn't like the idea and is concerned about the show's "sleazy tone." Hence, it tried to block the show's production on the island.
So, the network executives are forced to change location and film the new season in a less exotic destination in Queensland. Now, everything is set for the new season.
Love Island Australia Season 2 is due for release at the end of the year on Channel Nine, which has been upgraded from the multichannel 9Go. Sophie Monk will return to host the show, along with its narrator Eoghan McDermott.
