BLACKPINK Jennie is a favorite topic of conversation on social media not only because of her on-point fashion sense but also because she rules at everything she does, whether it be performances or art. Jennie became a trending topic again in the Philippines without having to do anything as Jennie memes flooded Twitterverse when her namesake typhoon entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
According to a report by Cosmopolitan Philippines, Filipino BLINKs had a field day flooding Twitter with Jennie related memes. In the most popular ones, the BLACKPINK member's face is superimposed on a weather map showing Typhoon Jenny's entry into the Philippines.
There were also those who photoshopped a picture of Jennie posing like a beautiful weather reporter delivering the news. Of course, in connection to the catchphrase "BLACKPINK in your area," Pinoy fans referenced the slogan as typhoon Jenny entered the Philippine area of responsibility -- hence, it came as no surprise that the hashtag #JennyPH became a trending topic in the country. However, instead of news reports pertaining to the weather disturbance, Pinoys were surprised by the sheer amount of creativity and hilarity that Pinoy BLINKs were able to come out with.
This was not the first time that BLACKPINK's Jennie became a trending topic on Twitter. It has become a common occurrence for fans to watch out for her outfits; whether it be her airport style, no make up looks or even retro trends, she revives for a comeback on her numerous Instagram posts.
Most recently, Jennie became the topic of conversation among netizens for her skintight green outfit that she wore for BLACKPINK's performance for the Japanese a-nation music festival. While the shade of green may look unflattering as it was the same shade as bath towels used in Korean saunas, BLINKs were distracted from the poor fashion call by Jennie's unbelievable figure. This has even raised the question of whether BLACKPINK members underwent cosmetic surgery to enhance their natural figures.
After their Japanese stage, BLACKPINK has returned to Korea to hold two private stages for their fans on September 21. Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rose will perform for BLINKs at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul which holds a seating capacity of 15,500 fans.
According to a report by All Kpop, members of fan clubs had first dibs on the tickets last August 20 at 8 pm KST while tickets went on sale for the general public last August 22 and 23. BLACKPINK will hold two performances on the same day. The first will be at 1 pm while the second stage will be at 6 pm on the same day.
BLACKPINK's Private Stage is expected to give Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rose a chance to reconnect with Korean fans on a smaller scale for a more personalized approach before they embark on Japanese Dome Tour from December to February 2020.
