All American Season 2 will continuously explore Olivia (Samantha Logan) and Asher's (Cody Christian) relationship, despite their will-they-won't-they romance. Taye Diggs even hints there will be mysteries in the second installment as the family drama continues.
In an interview with Logan, she revealed at the recent Television Critics Association summer press tour that Olivia and Asher's bond would continue to grow in the new season. Something special is about to happen in their relationship that will be revealed in the upcoming episodes.
The 22-year-old star believes Olivia truly loves Asher. However, if her feeling for him is not romantically inclined, then she eyes him as a friend. "She wants the best for him. She wants best for everybody in her life, but with Asher there's a little something different there," she explained, via TV Guide.
Christian, on the other hand, revealed fans find it attractive to see Olivia being the only person that stood by Asher's side through everything. She continuously inspires and encourages him to be the man she knows that he can be amidst everything he has been through.
In All American Season 2, fans will see how their relationship will go as friends. Christian continued to say Olivia and Asher have a lot of respect for each other. The two have a very positive romance as they encourage each other to grow and find themselves.
But just like any other relationships, Olivia and Asher's will also experience some drama and obstacles. As Olivia still goes on a date with Chris (Spencer Moore II) in the previous season, their relationship will be in question in the next installment. Hence, there will be a lot of character developments in the new season. There will also be a 180-degree turn from Season 1 to Season 2 with where it will take Asher from the directorial stint to scriptwriting.
Meanwhile, Diggs also drops some hints about All American Season 2 in another interview with Wonderwall. In the show's first table read, the 48-year-old star learned the show's mysteries and deceit would continue.
The family drama would eventually fall into team and friendship dramas. "We're still dealing with very contemporary and pertinent issues that youth are dealing with today, with race and social dynamics," Diggs revealed.
The show's first season received positive reviews that ignited a renewal for a second season. The ratings even helped the series to secure a new installment, aside from having a cult following. All American Season 2 is set to be out on Monday, Oct. 7, on The CW.
