CBS's new strong series material, FBI, is returning soon for a new season. With its impressive 12.5 million viewers per episode on an average note, fans are definitely excited for its arrival.

Fortunately, it is already coming soon. And in less than four weeks, the second season will finally premiere and start its course.

The truth is - little has been shared about the new season's details. And so much more in terms of its plot.

But even so, some of the exciting details have been shared previously. In fact, it added more hype to FBI Season 2's premiere. To the fans' satisfaction, these details include the upcoming season's cast members and the possibility of a crossover episode with NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

According to TV Line, new faces will be introduced in the second season of the series. Bones' prominent star John Boyd will appear in three episodes. He is set to play the role of Agent Stuart Scola.

While the number of episodes is quite too little, it has been told previously that his role is being looked upon whether he'll be a series regular or not. And quite obviously, this will depend on the show's performance and the actor's appeal to the fans once the episodes arrive.

Aside from John Boyd, Alana De La Garza will also join the cast of FBI Season 2. She is previously seen on the backdoor pilot episode of FBI: Most Wanted, who played the role of Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Isobel Castile.

Apparently, she made an exit to the show's spin-off and instead, she reprised the role to enter the main franchise. Her arrival on the show is just fitting considering that Sela Ward, who played the role of Special Agent in Charge Dana Mosier in the pilot season, has already left the series for good.

These changes in the new season have created real excitement among the fans. But what made the new season so much more interesting is the fact that Dick Wolf, the series producer and creator, has revealed with Deadline that he might do a "crossover" episode with his other series materials on NBC.

As any fan knows it, Dick Wolf is the mind behind NBC's One Chicago franchise and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. And based on his statements, he wanted to do a crossover between his series creations. And it might just happen on the new season of FBI.

There is no confirmation yet about the matter. Even so, it will surely be verified once the series returns of CBS.

FBI Season 2 will premiere on September 24, on CBS.
