Linda Hunt is back on NCIS: Los Angeles as Hetty will be largely featured in the new season. And based on reports, her character will play an integral role in the course of the upcoming installment.
Back in Season 10, Linda Hunt has been missed by the show's fans and viewers due to an unfortunate accident she incurred. Accordingly, her character, Hetty, was away for quite some time in the picture. But when Hetty returned on the last few moments of the season, it became a glorious one, especially for Deeks who married Kensi in the installment.
As per Cinema Blend, the showrunners revealed that NCIS: Los Angeles Season 11 would have a unique and "cool" episode in its course as, for the first time, the show will feature Hetty Lange's backstory.
The details of the episode were not revealed. For all the fans know, it will explain pretty much everything as to why Hetty has become the person she is right now. And to make things more interesting, the showrunners also uncovered that the one who wrote the episode is, no other than, Eric Christian Olsen.
Eric Christian Olsen plays the role of Deeks. And as per the fans' general reception, it seems that it's quite poetic, in some way and somehow.
The publication further asserted that Olsen is not a "veteran writer" for the NCIS franchise. Even so, the franchise almost always allows its cast members to showcase talents that are outside of acting per TV Line. Chris O'Donnell, who plays the role of Callen, has been directing some of the show's episodes in the past few years.
As for the episode's premiere date, it has not been disclosed yet. Even so, many fans believed that it would be included in the first half of the season since it has been already written. Therefore, it is highly likely for the episode to air before 2019 ends.
On another note, while Linda Hunt is back on the show, another character will pretty much take some time away from NCIS: Los Angeles Season 11. And based on recent reports, Barrett Foa, who plays the role of Eric, will not be around for the new season due to personal reasons.
It is believed that his absence will be felt in five to six episodes. Nevertheless, his character will not be written off from the plot. It has been revealed that Hetty will assign Eric into a "mysterious" mission which will force him to do it behind everyone's eyes.
So far, these are some of the new updates about NCIS: Los Angeles Season 11. And thankfully, the rest will soon be revealed as the first episode will air on September 29, on CBS.
