The Resident Season 3 will begin with a big bang. Aside from a major fire happening, someone may bid his/her final goodbye in the series. The previous season ended with a major cliffhanger that put Nic's (Emily VanCamp) sister or father on the line, but Conrad's life (Matt Czuchry) is also at risk.

Fox has dropped the new season's trailer, teasing a big fire happening at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital after an explosion. In the clip, a bloody Conrad tells Nic (Emily VanCamp) to get out of the building as the whole place can go up.

But by the looks of it, Conrad should have followed his advice and escape. The trailer also showed Nic and Conrad getting cozy in bed after their reconciliation in the previous season. Kit (Jane Leeves) and Dr. Bell (Bruce Greenwood) also have a friendly interaction of their own.

However, The Resident Season 3's trailer didn't give much about the previous season cliffhanger, which showed Nic's sister and father hanging in the balance. It only revealed Nic crying in a field of flowers, which might be a sign that someone met his or her demise.

The previous season finale ended with Nic facing a tough challenge. However, it was not revealed who between her father and sister had a flatline in the show's ending.

According to TV Insider, Conrad (Matt Czuchry) seems to be the one who will die in The Resident Season after the fire. The promo even shows that he is in danger. He wants Nic to get to safety, not minding about himself. Later, he is found unconscious.

But as he is the show's lead star, it may be impossible Conrad will meet his death. The scene where Nic is seen in the field seems to suggest she has lost a family member.

In an interview in May, executive producer Amy Holden revealed there is no guaranteed one of Nic's family members dies. "It's still possible to bring people back after a flatline under certain circumstances," she explained. "The likelihood is somebody dies, but I'm not going to give it away."

The Resident Season 3 will also begin with Red Rock Mountain Medical takes control after Dr. Bell made a deal to save the hospital. There will be a new intimidating neurosurgeon Dr. Barrett Cain (Morris Chestnut) to turn around Chastain's (Gilbert Glenn Brown) finances.

Holden revealed the compromise is something he couldn't avoid. It might be the reason behind his disempowerment to protect the hospital. The doctors must continue to fight the corrupting power of money in health care as they put their futures and careers at risk to stop "profit over patients." The Resident Season 3 will be out on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 8/7c on Fox.
