While there is no confirmation yet about the matter, recent reports have already hinted that McGarrett will continue his work in the department.
These headlines did not specifically tackle the aftermath of Hawaii Five-0 Season 9. In a more accurate sense, the reports largely focused on the new season's cast additions.
According to TV Line, the upcoming season will introduce a new series character that will play a huge role in the core of the series. As it happens, Arrow star, Katrina Law, will enter the plot as the show's new series regular.
It has been revealed that she will play the role of Quinn Liu, a former Staff Sergeant with Army CID. Also, it has been mentioned that she was "demoted" due to insubordination. But with the upcoming "explosive collision" in Hawaii Five-0 Season 10, she will immediately become a "loyal" ally to McGarrett.
Aside from her background, it has also been uncovered that her capabilities will be in par with McGarrett's. And with these descriptions at hand, it only goes to show that nothing happened to McGarrett during the finale of the previous season.
While McGarrett is now, somehow, confirmed to be alive and well, Cinema Blend asserts that, with Katrina Law's entrance to the show, someone may still exit the series for good.
The publication explained that the fans have been theorizing lately that Jorge Garcia's Jerry Ortega will exit in the next season. But of course, these are just plain theories and speculations made by the fans based on the cliffhanger of the previous season finale.
It is also worth noting that Jorge Garcia's Jerry Ortega has been with the show since its fourth season run. And even if he just received the series regular status one season after, his presence is certainly a huge factor to the series.
Accordingly, there is still no assurance that someone will leave the show. And unless the production or the network confirms, the newest and biggest change in its cast will only be Katrina Law's arrival.
