CBS' comedy sitcom, Life In Pieces, had a good four-season run on the network. It just actually ended its course two months ago. While the cancellation announcement was heard ahead of the finale, in fact, it even happened just right a little after the fourth season premiere, the reason behind remains unknown.

Quite obviously, the fans were quite surprised by the decision made by CBS. And it seems that most of them are still adamant about learning the reason behind.

Although the show has been performing tremendously well in its earlier installments, it appears that the only logical thing as to why there will be no Season 5 is due to the apparent decline of its viewership records.

According to TV Line, Life In Pieces was one of CBS' top-performing sitcom, just right next to The Big Bang Theory. With a total of ten to 11 million viewers that it garnered during the pilot season, everything went well for the show.

But as the sitcom progressed, the trend of its viewership records eventually reached a downward course. At first, this is pretty normal for every television series. Even so, the numbers dived when the show premiered its third season.

Not to mention, the number of sitcoms that CBS continue to offer is quite increasing. And based on records, Life In Pieces was not able to "outranked" these offerings. Out of CBS' nine sitcoms, the show only reached the eighth and ninth spots during its latest runs.

The same scenario was also depicted on the fourth installment of the show as per TV Series Finale. As it happened, the average number of viewers for the whole season dropped to almost half of the initial record. With these figures at hand, this is the most plausible and reasonable basis as to why the network canceled the show for good.

To date, some fans are still hoping for the show to return. There are even a few petitions online that campaign for Life In Pieces Season 5. However, no significant result has been seen since then.

The thoughts of changing or switching networks also came to the minds of some viewers. But nothing much has been heard from the production and other networks on television. Even the cast members are silent over the matter.

So, unless otherwise announced by CBS or other programs, Life In Pieces Season 5 is still canceled. And this status might not change for a while.
