When Now You See Me first premiered on big screens, it easily caught the attention of many. With its unique and thrilling setting in the magic world, it piqued the interest of the viewers. As a result, the whole $75 million budget for the film has grossed into over $352 million.

Upon the success of the film, a sequel shortly followed. And the likes of Daniel Radcliffe and Jay Chou were seen on Now You See Me 2.

With their arrival on the franchise, it invited again many audiences to watch the sequel of the popular magic heist thriller film. However, the reviews and receptions were not impressive. Not to mention, the box office gross has come a little much shorter than the first run.

While the viewership records are not stellar, it has been previously reported that Now You See Me 3 is sealed. The plans for the third film has been already confirmed before the premiere of the second installment.

Three years later, no further update has been given about the new addition to the franchise. And it seems that it might take a while before the fans could see a new magic heist again from the Four Horsemen.

According to Screen Rant, there is no confirmed release date for Now You See Me 3 yet. But based on the original plan, 2019 is the inked year for the premiere of the third film.

It is also worth noting that there are other significant details that have been shared in the past few years. So, while the premiere date is not yet announced, the previously released updates can pretty much support the arrival of the film.

As it happens, it has been revealed that Jon M. Chu will direct Now You See Me 3. Along with Chu, Neil Widener and Gavin James are tasked to be the screenwriters. As for the producer, Ed Solomon is named while N. Honey will be in the cinematography.

In terms of the cast, the Four Horsemen will be back to reprise their roles. These include Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, and Lizzy Kaplan. It has also been revealed that Isla Fisher will be back to reprise her role as Henley Reeves.

Mark Ruffalo and Morgan Freeman are also mentioned to return for Now You See Me 3 per Udou. And as for the newest addition to the cast, Benedict Cumberbatch is hinted as the next big bad villain of the upcoming course.

With these technical details at hand, it is highly unlikely for the film not to continue. And unless otherwise stated by the heads and bosses over at Lionsgate, Now You See Me 3 is still happening.
