Three months have already passed, but it seems like NBC is keeping everything about Blindspot Season 5 under the wraps. As it happens, very little has been shared and disclosed about the upcoming fifth and final season of the crime drama series.

Just a few weeks before the fourth season finale, the network has already announced that the series will be renewed for a new season. However, it will already serve as the final installment for the show.

Considering how the plot went down during its previous runs, it appears that the ending is quite foreshadowed already. So, it is not surprising why the show is now ending for good.

In an interview with TV Line, Blindspot's creator, Martin Gero, revealed that he planned the show to have a five-season run ever since it began airing on NBC. He also contended that he already knew how the show would end once it reaches its conclusion.

Before the fourth season finale, he also revealed that the finale would revolutionize the final installment of the show in a way that no one would never think of. And so it did when the previous season ended.

As it happened, a bomb went off at a close distance. And the characters near the incident are Jane, Weller, Reade, Patterson, and Zapata. Hence, the lives of these characters are now on the line. But as to whether they've survived the explosion or not, this is what the upcoming season will primarily answer to the fans as per Cinema Blend.

Martin Gero further added that the upcoming season would show different sides of the characters as an outcome to the apparent accident. And this will change the whole dynamic and setting of the show.

With all these things at hand, it makes the fans a lot more eager to obtain the new episodes. But sadly, there is no word yet about its arrival on NBC.

Many fans thought that Blindspot Season 5 would likely premiere this October considering the premiere dates of the previous seasons. This is why it came as a surprise to everyone when NBC released its fall premiere schedules, and the show is not included.

Up until today, there is no clear information as to when it will finally arrive. And while the fans are patiently waiting, they are also hoping that it would not take another year.

As per reports, Blindspot Season 5 might arrive in spring of 2020. But if not, then it is possible that it would instead premiere in the early summer of 2020.
