The CW's Legacies Season 2 will feature new changes in its arrival this fall. Aside from the new plotlines and twists in the coming episodes, the series' next run will also have a lot of new characters.

During the Comic-Con 2019 last July, it has been already revealed that Descendant's Thomas Doherty will join the cast of the fantasy series in its return. He will play the role of Sebastian, who is a vampire from the 15th century.

In an interview with TV Line, series executive producer, Julie Plec, explained that Sebastian's character is the production's "response" to the fact that writing a "contemporary" vampire in this day and age is "difficult. And with his arrival on the grounds of Salvatore School will change a lot.

While Doherty's character as Sebastian is already introduced a few months ago, it is only recently that the show has released its first look at the character. Along with it, a few teasers have been already dropped.

As per Comic Book, Sebastian's arrival is quite integral in Hope's possible absence in the picture. This is because no one will no longer remember her after sacrificing herself to prevent Malivore's return to the world. And when Legacies Season 2 arrives, this is where the new installment will likely pick up.

In addition to Sebastian's "waking up" in today's generation, a "dark force" will also emerge as per reports. And this new force is revealed to play a huge part in the first half of the new season. The midseason will largely center on the mystery behind it making it as the show's midseason cliffhanger.

Many are quite convinced that this is going to be Hope's "bad" and dark side considering how things ended up for her after the Malivore incident. Actress Danielle Rose Russell even mentioned that she is very much looking forward to exploring Hope's dark side in the new season. So basically, it has become a huge hint for what is about to come.

On another note, Digital Spy has revealed the other characters who will make an introduction in Legacies Season 2. Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, Alexis Denisof, will play the role of Professor Vardemus, who is described as "dandy" British sorcerer.

He will also be joined by Dawson's Creek actress, Bianca Kajlich, who will play the role of the new protector of Mystic Falls, Sheriff Mac. Why Women Kill star, Leo Howard, and The Fosters' Bianca Santos will also enter the new season as Sheriff Mac's kids, Ethan and Maya, respectively.

Legacies Season 2 will premiere on October 10, on The CW.
