AMC's Fear The Walking Dead is seemingly losing its apparent impressive magic recently. With the current season's performance, reports claim that things might not turn out well for the show's future.
For many weeks now, ever since the new season premiered, the headlines about the series are all focused on its unimpressive and "absurd" performance. As it happens, the reviews and viewership records are not looking great.
While the network has remained positive and firm about the show's overall performance this season, many reports and critics have pointed out how everyone seemingly agrees that Fear The Walking Dead Season 5 is getting a little worse week after week. Forbes has been very fixed in its overall evaluation of the show.
The publication is not entirely pleased and satisfied with what the show is offering these days. And based on the receptions, they've continued to stress out that the series is no longer making any sense.
After airing the show's twelfth episode titled, Ner Tamid, it has been even more justified that the fans are already losing their interest toward the show. As it appeared, the episode garnered the lowest viewership record in the show's history. From the previous week's 1.44 million viewers, the number decreased down to 1.14 million.
When Fear The Walking Dead Season 5 premiered, the average number of viewers is ranging between 1.30 million and 1.65 million. And even though this is by far the lowest range in the show's five-season run, the most recent episode became a mark that the series is truly getting worse.
Cinema Blend also pointed out the same values. Not to mention, it has been revealed that there were no other series or show "competitors" during the airing period of the latest episode.
By looking at the time slots, the only popular show on air during the Ner Tamid's airing period was an episode of 90 Days Fiancé: Before The 90 Days. And the episode obtained over 2.4 million viewers. Therefore, it only means that the fans and viewers skipped watching Fear The Walking Dead Season 5.
But whatever the case, the show remains to be renewed on AMC as the new season has been already commissioned. So, even if the show continues to have a huge decline in terms of viewership records, Season 6 will still happen. Even so, it is still worth noting that if the current season continues its underperforming records and ratings, then the upcoming season might already serve as the final bow for the show.
Fear The Walking Dead Season 5 still has four more episodes in its course. And the upcoming episode titled, Leave What You Don't, will air on September 8, on AMC.
