The fourth season finale that aired a few months ago caused a huge commotion among the One Chicago fandom. As it happened, Chicago Med took a huge turn in its plot, and the lives of its main characters were put to risk.
After the tragic car accident, Natalie incurred injuries in the arms of her ex-fiance, Will. Of course, the fans were convinced that her future would be on the line. Many thought that she might die when the new season arrives.
While many fans believe that it could happen, series executive producer and co-showrunner, Andrew Schneider, revealed in an interview with TV Line that Natalie survived the crash. But even though she did not die after incurring grave injuries, things will be not great for her, especially on her mental state.
Based on the statements, it has been revealed that Natalie will incur brain damages. But as to how serious these damages are, this is a question for another day, or rather, for another episode.
As stated, the first episode of Chicago Med Season 5 titled, Never Going Back To Normal, will finally reveal the aftermath of the car accident. Hence, the fans will then get to know how bad Natalie's condition is.
Fansided via One Chicago Center also mentioned that Nat's injuries would cause tension between Philip and Will. And while her relationship with Will will pretty much still happen as implied by the reports, Philip is not going anywhere. So, this is also another aspect that the fans will get to see when the new season premieres.
Accordingly, Will and Philip will be present in Chicago Med Season 5. On the other hand, there are regular cast members who will then make their exits on the upcoming season.
During the last few moments of the previous season, it has been revealed that Colin Donnell and Norma Kuhling will already bid their goodbyes in the next season. And per Cartermatt, their characters, Dr. Connor and Dr. Ava, respectively, will return to wrap their arcs up fulfilling their storylines for their imminent exits.
So, it is expected for the fans of these characters to watch out how things will unfold for their storylines. And while it's not good news right now, the show promises that Season 5 will be a good one.
Now, aside from these things, there are certainly a lot more to come. Fortunately, Chicago Med Season 5 is about to premiere. The first episode titled, Never Going Back To Normal, will air on September 25, on NBC.
