BLACKPINK has dethroned One Direction as most subscribed music group on YouTube. Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose have amassed 29,899,219 subscribers on the platform, as of September 9.

According to a report by Channel News Asia, BLACKPINK surpassed One Direction's YouTube channel that had 29,888, 096 subscribers. This makes the Kpop girl group the 9th most subscribed music channel all over the world, trailing Justin Bieber with 46.4 million, Ed Sheeran with 41.8 million,  Eminem, Marshmello, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and Rihanna.

This comes as no surprise because BLACKPINK's MVs have been breaking countless records on youtube with their music video for DDU DU DDU DU well on its way to reaching the 1 billion views mark. The video, currently, has 945,895,605 views.

Apart from their bestselling DDU DU DDU DU,  BLACKPINK's Boombayah and As If Its Your Last MVs have also breached the 650 million views mark. Kill This Love has also charted over 575 million views while Playing With Fire and Whistle broke the 400 million views milestone, Kworb reported.

Jennie's Solo was also the first Kpop female solo to break the 350 million mark. Dance practice videos and clips from their reality show, music show performances also generate views that add to the total.

It can be recalled that, just a month ago, BLACKPINK successfully ousted PSY as the most viewed Korean YouTube channel, which is tall order given that the artist charted billions of views from global hit Gangnam Style alone.

In a report by E! Online, BLACKPINK was credited for overtaking PSY by raking in 7.213 billion views on their YouTube channel. This is an impressive accomplishment given that BLACKPINK only has a total of 14 official MVs uploaded on their YT channel. Rewatching their videos could also be a way for BLINKs to support their music given that Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose's jampacked tour schedule does not give them much time and liberty to work on their comeback.

BLACKPINK was, also, recently nominated for E! People's Choice Awards for three categories.BLACKPINK picked up nominations for The Group of 2019, The Music Video of 2019 for Kill This Love and The Concert Tour of 2019 for their BLACKPINK 2019 Your Area World Tour. The award is expected to announce the winners in November.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is preparing for their Private Stage this September 21 at the Olympic Hall in Seoul. They are expected to interact with BLINKs in two timeslots: 1 pm and 6 pm on the same day, as a unique treat.
