Ever since Michael Schumacher suffered a head injury while on a skiing holiday in December 2013, his health condition has been the subject of speculations. Schumacher's family had elected to remain mostly private on the matter and only provided scant details nearly six years after the accident.

The last medical news on the Formula One ace was that he received stem cell treatment at a Paris hospital and the procedure supposedly led to welcome development. Unconfirmed reports claimed Schumacher had already regained consciousness, but it was unclear if the progress was directly caused by the new treatment.

According to the Republic World, the seven-time world champion racer has since returned home in Geneva, Switzerland but he will require another procedure that still involves stem cell therapy.

"Michael Schumacher will need to go through anti-inflammatory stem cell perfusion. That surgery will be conducted by a famous cardiovascular surgeon - Philippe Menasché," the report claimed.

At home in Geneva, a 15-member medical team is reportedly on a 24/7 watch attending the German sportsman, but his health status largely remains unknown. Media reports said the former Ferrari driver has shown improvements but has yet to regain the ability to walk.

Then for most of the other details pertaining to Schumacher's health, it's nearly a blackout.

And Sabine Kehm, long-time manager for the F1 racer, can only bring more bad news to Schumacher fans. According to her, supporters expecting an update will only be disappointed. Sabine stressed that as far as Schumacher's health is concerned, everything will be kept secret.

Sabine, however, is acknowledging that the position taken by the Schumacher family on the matter was frustrating and difficult to fans that are eager to get information on how the sportsman is doing. Unfortunately, the manager said "updates around his health will be guarded," the Express reported.

That would mean the stream of information on Schumacher's health condition will remain sparse, Sabine added.

Her declaration is in line with the position taken by the Schumacher family and was made known when ailing champion race driver celebrated his 50th birthday last January 2019. In a statement, the family gave thanks for the support and love shown by Schumacher's fans.

The family, however, reiterated that in keeping with the sportsman's wishes all details about the health condition of Schumacher would be closely guarded. His privacy will be the foremost concern when considering the need to release an update.

The family assured that Schumacher is getting the best health care available.

"You can be sure that he is in the very best of hands and that we are doing everything humanly possible to help him," the statement said.
