The end has begun as Empire Season 6 started to drop its episodes. In the premiere of the final season, a fast-forward to the future has been seen. Instead of seeing the usual Lucious standing in front of a coffin, the future previews his possible demise at the end of the series.
No one's certain yet if Lucious will die at the end of the series. But, it is hinted that a major character will die anyway.
Empire Season 6 started with the events that happened nine months away from the future. With it, Lucious's being far away from his family is depicted.
While he continues his run, Andre took over his position and tried to manage things for the Lyon clan. It is confirmed as well that he is no longer struggling from his previous season's fatal illness.
Everything's running smoothly, and the same goes for the matriarch of the clan, Cookie. Not until Mouse arrived in the picture, which struggled Andre.
In a recap published by TV Line, the first episode titled, What Is Love, ended with Mouse dying in the hands of Andre. At the same time, Andre's expecting "baby-mama" Terry is going on labor alone in the bedroom.
It's quite safe to say that Empire Season 6 Episode 2 will simply continue where the premiere ended. So, the aftermath of Mouse's death and Terry's surprising yet dangerous labor will all be seen when the new episode drops.
As per Cartermatt, Mouse's death is traumatic for Andre, and it seemingly appears that this will affect him internally. With the episode titled, Got On My Knees To Pray, it will probably send Andre down to the winding road as he is now alone protecting the family from the dangers Lucious and Jamal left.
The new episode will also continue to feature Becky and Giselle's new venture in the industry. The all-female label that they've built together started in a rough spot as seen in the premiere. But, things will be better as hinted in the preview of Empire Season 6 Episode 2.
As for Lucious, no one knows yet about his return. Fans are convinced, though, that his comeback might take a while. So, many are expecting that he will remain out-of-sight in the upcoming episode.
Empire Season 6 Episode 2 titled, Got On My Knees To Pray, will air on October 1, on FOX.
