Netflix has been keeping viewers on their toes after dropping a new clue about the title of Lucifer Season 5 Episode 3. So far, the titles of the first two episodes of the season have already been revealed, and now fans are on for another guessing game.
Lucifer will continue with its fifth and final season on Netflix. To hype the last installment of the urban fantasy series, the streaming service has been dropping the title of each episode one by one.
Episodes 1 and 2 have been revealed to be titled "Really Sad Devil Guy" and "Lucifer! Lucifer! Lucifer!" respectively. Now, fans have to guess the third one.
The show's writers' room shared on its official Twitter account the clue for Lucifer Season 5 Episode 3 title and it is one word, six letters, and the first letter is "D." Fans, quickly, jumped on the guessing bandwagon and flooded the post with their guesses.
Many wrote "Demons" mainly because it is what Lucifer tried to deal with at the end of the previous season and what he is at the start of the upcoming installment. Some guess "Devils," "Doomed," and "Danger." Others wrote, "Douche" in reference to Tom Ellis' character, Lucifer Morningstar, and "Decker" as in Chloe Decker (Lauren German), Lucifer's first true love.
Lucifer is a fantasy comedy-drama that centers around the life of Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis), who got bored with his life in Hell. He decided to abandon his throne and became a civilian consultant for the Los Angeles Police Department while running a high-end nightclub called "Lux."
Lucifer, being the Lord of Hell himself, has superhuman strength and invulnerability. He also has the power to make people tell him their secret desires.
The series debut in 2016 on Fox. However, the network canceled the show after three seasons. Netflix managed to pick up Lucifer and gave it two more seasons after its fans launched a #SaveLucifer campaign to give the show a new home.
Netflix has announced earlier this month that the cast is back on set and begun filming Season 5. The announcement came along with a photo of the cast lined up in their first table read which confirmed who will return next season.
Ellis and German are returning in Season 5 as Lucifer and Detective Chloe Decker, respectively. Kevin Alejandro (Detective Dan Espinoza), D. B. Woodside (Amenadiel), Lesley-Ann Brandt (Mazikeen), Aimee Garcia (Ella Lopez), and Rachael Harris (Dr. Linda Martin) are also reprising their respective roles.
As for Inbar Lavi, there is still no confirmation if the actress will return as Eve. However, showrunner Joe Henderson already expressed hope to see more of the character in Season 5.
Netflix has yet to release a premiere date for Lucifer Season 5, but it is expected to be released in Summer 2020. There are also speculations that Netflix might split the final season considering it has given an extended episode length. Season 4 had only 10 episodes while the upcoming season has 16.
