It may take some time before Lucifer Season 5 drops on Netflix. But, recent reports continue to keep the fans looped-in with the newest updates about the show.

Teasers are quite evident ever since the show obtained its renewal from the platform. Even if the filming has just begun earlier this month, significant details are already out.

Lucifer Season 5 will likely arrive in summer 2020. It will have a total of 16 episodes and two titles of which are already revealed. Alongside these general details, updates about the new cast members are now starting to make the headlines.

According to Cartermatt, the new season will be a Spartacus reunion for Lesley-Ann Brandt. As it happens, Erin Cummings, who played Sura in the said series, will play Mandy in the final season of Lucifer.

No further information has been given yet about her key part in the plot. But, as far as her primary role is concerned, she is said to be the Chief Engineer for the Red 2 Mars Project.

The project is somehow hinted to be a series of "simulation tests" to identify individuals who will "crack" under isolation. So, it pretty much gives the idea that the LAPD will continue to work on cases despite Lucifer's trip back to Hell. (Note: only a few humans know about his identity!)

What's On Netflix revealed another celebrity who will join the cast of Lucifer Season 5. Goliath star Matthew Bohrer is set to play the role of Donovan Glover.

Erik Aude will also enter the show as a guy named Rob. Apart from the characters' names in the storyline, no further details are given for their roles.

These characters will not be part of the regular and recurring cast. It has been revealed that they will all enter the show as guest stars.

When these celebrities were first introduced to the public, fans have noticed that the announcements have stressed out the fact that these are the "first new casting updates," which only denotes that there will be a few more. Fans are expecting though; that more names will be added to the list in the next few weeks.

Given that Season 5 has just begun its filming a few weeks ago, it is highly likely that new details and updates about the show will continue to drop.
