There are only two episodes left for Succession Season 2, leading to the questions about the possible new season renewal. As the show is now the new fan-favorite HBO drama, it is not far there will be Succession Season 3. However, there are some questions about how long it should run.
In an interview with series creator Jesse Armstrong, he told Entertainment Weekly Succession is not the kind of show that should go on forever. The title itself has set up a question that needed to be answered eventually. "So, I wouldn't say that it should go on forever, but we certainly haven't run out of ideas when we've met in the writers' room so far," he explained.
As early as now, there are already questions about who will run Waystar Royco. Although it is still too early to tell, a non-Roy family member, Rhea (Holly Hunter) has managed to get an approval from the patriarch CEO Logan Roy (Brian Cox).
According to Vogue, some root for the recent favorite Shiv (Sarah Snook) to inherit the business. But, if Rhea continues to show good performance in Succession Season 3, it is not far that she will handle the company.
So, who will return in the new season? HBO has yet to announce who will be seen in the next installment. However, if there will be any plot issues; its leading players are likely to make a comeback. Cox, Jeremy Strong, Hiam Abbass, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Alan Ruck, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, and J. Smith-Cameron may all reprise their roles.
Talking about succession itself, things have gone wrong for Kendall Roy (Strong). He used to be the most trusted son of Logan that could have potentially inherited the company, but that might never happen. His efforts to oust his dad as the CEO went to no avail for several times.
He started using drugs again that became a tabloid scandal. His marriage failed, and his kids barely know him. And when he thought he could redeem himself back and stand up to his father, another tragic event drew him closer to the family he wanted to avoid.
It can't be denied that Kendall and the other member of the ruling class have power, money, and self-determination, but they don't know how to escape themselves, per Vox. This theme is what said to make Succession a success and the best TV drama of the year. It profoundly shows that nobody can escape their selves. Succession Season 3 is yet to be in the works, but it may probably be seen in 2020 on HBO.
