Theories and speculations continue to emerge as The Handmaid's Tale Season 4 approaches its release. And one of the most notable notions recently concerns June and what happened after the previous season.
In Season 3 finale, June Osborne was shot by a guard after saving 52 children from the hands of Gilead. She survived but her fate remains unclear.
According to Express UK, fans are convinced that June's escape will be the focus of the upcoming season. However, the way it will happen sparks discussions among the viewers and fans.
One theory is that June will escape Gilead as she will be saved by one of the children's parents after saving them. This is viable, but, the theory will take time to happen. Also, she will have to leave her daughters behind and possibly return after a couple of years to get them back.
No one knows for sure how June will escape. But, moving to Canada is the one thing that will surely happen in the future.
Digital Spy recently released the details of The Testaments. It is the sequel to Margaret Atwood's novel where the series is loosely based on.
The events of The Handmaid's Tale Season 1 were based directly from the novel. But, after covering the whole paperback, Seasons 2 and 3 were written from scratch. As for The Testaments, it is set 15 years after the events of the first book.
No confirmation has been shared yet if the sequel book will already be featured in Season 4. But, if June escapes successfully, then the later episodes may already start the plot of the new novel.
The Testaments centers on Agatha and Daisy (who are Hannah and Nicole), and Aunt Lydia. In the book, June is revealed to settle in Canada while helping the resistance. Nicole will also be in Canada, though it is unclear if she is with June.
As for Hannah, she remained in the city and kept her new name. She does not have any recollection of June. So, the theory of the fans might be true after all.
All in all, this theory is, by far, the most possible among all due to the logic based on the events of The Testaments. However, the number of theories may increase further in the next few months since the release date of The Handmaid's Tale Season 4 is still unknown.
