The fourth season of the CBS legal drama series, Bull, has finally arrived. While fans have enjoyed the premiere, many have pointed out that the series is now taking a new approach in directing and releasing its plot course.
Episode 1 titled, Labor Days, started with an incident that happened two years ago. A bartender served shots to a lone man. Things seemed all normal until the lone man reached his ex-wife's house and killed her, along with her friends.
Two years later, to which the series labeled as the "present day," the bartender is being tried for "involuntary manslaughter" as she was the one who served the drinks to the killer. Bull tries to make his case as he believes that he'll make the case go away.
However, his conflicts with Benny created problems with the case. These conflicts are about what happened in Bull Season 3 finale when Benny learned that Bull slept with Izzy, who got pregnant after.
For the better part of the premiere, Bull tries to resolve the conflict with Benny. Although things did not work well at first, the two ended up mending their ties as Bull sincerely asked for his forgiveness.
Despite the efforts of the team, the case became more challenging. The present timeline did not reveal what happened to the case. Surprisingly, a future timeline has been depicted in the near end of the episode.
Fast forward to the future, a now-pregnant daughter of Izzy and Bull tells the story of the case in the family. She revealed later on that the case was resolved and it became the starting point of a good relationship between her father and her uncle.
According to Monsters and Critics, this kind of approach in the plot is far different from what Bull normally did in the previous seasons. Many are convinced that Steven Spielberg's exit as executive producer is what changed the main approach of the show.
Nevertheless, MEA World Wide pointed out that the new season has remained decent in its storytelling approach. And some fans are even more excited to witness how it will all play out in the future episodes.
The upcoming episode of Bull Season 4 titled, Fantastica Voyage, is directed by its main cast member, Michael Weatherly. It will air on September 30, on CBS.
