After six months of waiting, Dr. Shaun and the rest of the crew at the St. Bonaventure Hospital has finally returned. The Good Doctor Season 3 kicked off after Shaun and Carly started to date.
Shaun took their first date as a "disaster" -- hence, the title --- considering how it all went down. But, as per Newsweek, the relationship is now in the process of development.
While there is already progress between the two characters, Shaun is about to face his greatest challenge yet. And he might not succeed in becoming the hero he wants to be.
The Good Doctor Season 3 Episode 2 titled, Debts, will have a new case inside the hospital. A patient who is severely injured after stopping a sexual assault will be in a life-threatening situation.
The trailer reveals that he will no longer be able to walk or eat solid foods again. But, Shaun sees a different and unusual solution.
He will try to resolve the patient's condition by performing an experimental surgery. If he succeeds, then the patient will return to his normal state. On the other hand, this might also end in a much worse situation.
There is no clear indication yet what will be the outcome of the surgery. The hints though are predicting that things will become worse, which is why Carly is seen to comfort Shaun as she tells him that sometimes, "the hero loses."
Meanwhile, Audrey and Neil's relationship is hinted to face another challenging moment. The previous episode already depicted the possible future of the two characters.
After Audrey obtains her promotion, this causes strife between the two. And things are about to become much worse as per Cartermatt. The parents of one of the patients will approach Audrey claiming that Neil made a bad judgment call putting the life of the patient at risk.
Audrey is hinted to confront Neil about the professional matter. And quite obviously, this will start another conflict between the couple.
It is worth remembering that the series heads previously revealed that The Good Doctor Season 3 will see Audrey and Neil's relationship at the edge. It's either the two will get separated or one of them will resign from the hospital to continue the relationship. Whatever happens though, they will face heartbreaking moments in the upcoming installments.
The Good Doctor Season 3 Episode 2 is set to air on September 30, on ABC.
