Liz (played by Megan Boone) and Aram (played by Amir Arison) will share a light-hearted moment when The Blacklist season 7 returns on NBC this October. Amid the suspense and drama of figuring out the location of Red (played by James Spader), following his abduction last season, Liz and Aram are going to bond over a different case.
In a teaser for The Blacklist season 7 episode 1, Liz is seen consulting with Aram on a list of potential nannies for her daughter, Agnes. She wants to weed out the bad apples by having Aram vet their profiles.
Aram, however, has some bad news for Liz. Despite the nannies' glowing resumes, the top three choices surprisingly had skeletons in their closet and won't be good enough for the little girl. Aram also shared that he did the same background checks on a few women on a dating app. He kidded Liz that they are "playing chess with death" for there are shadowy characters everywhere.
This amusing moment between two agents will provide a welcome distraction from what's coming in The Blacklist season 7. According to the episode synopsis for the season premiere, Liz and the rest of the Task Force are going to scale the distance and come across an unknown danger head-on just to find Red.
The Blacklist season 7 episode 1 will have the Task Force on the edge upon realizing that Red has been abducted. The agency, however, has yet to determine that he's at the mercy of Katarina Rostova (played by Laila Robins), Liz's supposedly dead mother and Red's former lover, who will try to extract a sensitive information in relation to the Townsend Directive, according to showrunner Jon Bokenkamp.
This information was the very reason why Red surrendered to the FBI and sought Liz's protection in the first place. He will do all he can to keep this secret intact despite getting drugged and tortured in The Blacklist season 7 episode 1.
Red will realize that he is around his old enemies, who are some of the most notorious criminals in the world. How will he be able to stay one step ahead of them when he's captured and drugged?
Katarina, on the other hand, will try to slowly slip into her daughter's life. Will she reveal who she is or continue to be sly about it? And how will this change Liz's relationship with Red now that Katarina will be a presence to reckon with?
The Blacklist season 7 will begin its run on Friday, Oct. 4, at 8:00 p.m. on NBC. The series also stars Diego Klattenhoff, Harry Lennix and Hisham Tawfiq.
