Fans have been waiting for Jeepers Creepers 4 for two years now after the release of the film's third installment in 2017. Although it took more than a decade before a new movie came out after Jeepers Creepers 2, would the fourth release suffer the same fate? According to We Got This Covered, a fourth movie has already been pitched in before. In May, Salva was said to be quietly plotting a continuation of the saga's story. On the other hand, Jonathan Breck, who plays The Creeper since the very beginning, echoed the same thing in one of his interviews.
For Breck, the troubled director deserves a second chance. He also believes Jeepers Creepers 4 is not off the table yet. "Yeah, if we're lucky enough to have it happen," he told the publication mentioned above.
Breck continued to explain he had no idea if there was already a script made for a new installment. What he knew was they had a script written for the third movie for a long time before it was made. He also talked about the Cathedral, which got broken up into a television series.
Salva had to rewrite the third film's script before it hit the big screen. However, he still had Cathedral, which already had its first season script, ready to go, and might spawn from the movie. Does it mean Jeepers Creepers 4 will be made into a television series?
Breck added Salva is already working on the new film installment's script. He even revealed that it would be a lot interesting because they would go to an entirely new direction and deal with a whole new 23 days. Here, they may go forward, back, or a combination of the two.
Despite Breck's optimism, ScreenRant reported that due to Salva's 1988 conviction for child molestation, the third movie took a long time to get financed and even went straight to DVD because of the protests over the production. Hence, it is very likely Jeepers Creepers 4 will suffer the same thing if it takes shape.
With the mention of the unused Cathedral script turning into a television series, is it possible it will follow the original story of Trish planning to hunt down the Creeper to save her son? Little details are only known about Jeepers Creepers 4. So, it remains to be seen if this movie will still be in development or already called off.
