FBI season 2 episode 3 is arriving next week, and Sasha Alexander will appear as a guest star within this episode, titled "American Idol." The Rizzoli & Isles alum will be taking on the role of a key political figure who finds herself in danger.
Alexander's character is someone who can be easily targeted by many people, which makes it difficult to search the possible suspects. In FBI season 2 episode 3, Valerie Caldwell (Alexander) is a front-running female presidential candidate, and she was targeted with a car bomb.
So, Maggie and OA need to hurry and track the people who are after Caldwell before they could strike again. However, the case would lead them to wonder whether the person is targeting her for political aspirations or something else.
What could be the other motive of this person? Why does he or she want to harm Caldwell? That's one of the big questions in the latest episode, and we're going to find out whether Alexander's character is a good person or not.
The storyline offers some intriguing questions regarding the true nature of the character. CBS also released promo photos for FBI season 2 episode 3. In some of the images, Maggie and OA were spotted on the scene of a big presidential campaign. Other photos showed that Caldwell in action.
Meanwhile, the FBI is a series within the Dick Wolf family, and, with that, such shows don't usually go in the expected direction. Thus, Alexander's character within the upcoming episode may be in trouble, but not because of political reasons.
In addition, next week's episode isn't likely super-political when it comes to viewpoints. One of the reasons is Wolf's success as a producer; he tried to make his shows somewhat down the middle, avoiding being bias.
The timing of FBI season 2 episode 3 is also certainly a no coincidence, as the producers know the episode will be airing right in the thick of the campaign season. Hence, this is a good opportunity to deliver such an episode to gain a lot of attention to the show.
FBI season 2 episode 3 will air on Tuesday, October 8, on CBS.
