Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma Season 4 is one of the most highly-anticipated anime series that will return to the small screen this year. After the conclusion of its manga story, fans are now eager to see what will happen to the show after revealing the beginning of the Regiments de Cuisine.
The new season will see Soma, Erina, and other rebels go in a cooking battle against Central's new Elite Ten. So, what will happen to these matches? Producer Noriko Dohi revealed it would be filled with a lot of highlights.
In an interview with Comic Book during the Crunchyroll Expo 2019, Dohi revealed some of the highlights that would happen in the battle. He even put emphasize on Erina's name, teasing fans should keep an eye on her to see how much she has grown from Season 3 to Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma Season 4.
Dohi said it is tough to pick only one from all the staff who have devoted themselves to every battle they go through. Although all of them are heated, Erina's action is different as she has mentally grown up on the third plate. In fact, her fight is one of the significant moments of the Regiments de Cuisine in the original manga series; it only shows how the anime will stick to its original story.
However, Dohi also dropped that there would be one highlight that would be totally unexpected. He wanted fans to also keep an eye for one of the new Elite Ten's dishes. "[P]lease look forward to Somei Saito's 'Ten Pieces of Tuna Ruby Orbs Sushi' in the anime, which [original series writer] Tsukuda-sensei said wanted to eat!" he teased.
Saito is the Elite Ten's fifth seat. He made a big impression due to his samurai-esque look. After the bushido code, he developed his own "Sushido" style of cooking. So, in Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma Season 4, he will be taking on Soma, and it will surely be stylish.
Meanwhile, the newly-dropped promo for the new season has built an incredible hype for the show's return. Season 4 will be officially dubbed The Fourth Plate, although its number of episodes is yet to be revealed.
However, it is known the new installment will officially bring the Central arc to a close. It will exactly pick up in the middle of the final duel of the Regiments de Cuisine. Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma Season 4 is set to be out on Friday, Oct. 11, in Japan, and Crunchyroll confirmed it would be streamed on the same day in the United States.
