The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss is, reportedly, joining the cast of Showtime's The Chi Season 3. After confirming the new season renewal from the network, production and filming immediately started.
According to Deadline, the reality star will enter the new season as Roselyn Perry. She is the "estranged wife" of Douda, who will be back at his husband's side due to his "political agenda."
No further information has been shared about her role or storyline. Even so, it is already confirmed that she will be playing a recurring role. So, fans will see Kandi Burruss for the better parts of The Chi Season 3.
In a quick interview with Bravo TV, the reality star shared her gratefulness and excitement over her new project. As it happens, she just recently guest-starred on the cast of the musical production of Chicago. Aside from these acting roles, the "explosive" Season 12 of Real Housewives of Atlanta is about to premiere this November.
Kandi Burruss also shared her sentiments on her social media accounts. She claimed her praises for the "blessings" in her life right now. The star further went on to mention the heads of The Chi Season 3, especially its creator, Lena Waithe, for allowing her to portray Roselyn Perry.
Her arrival on the set is quite timely as fans deemed it. This is because the show faced several allegations and controversies after its lead star, Jason Mitchell, was dropped from the series due to undisclosed reasons.
The news broke the media after Showtime renewed The Chi for a new season. Variety confirmed the controversy. However, no details were given to the public about his dismissal.
