Jack Ryan Season 2 has dropped teaser at the recent New York Comic-Con 2019 and the audience is impressed. It featured action pack scenes and tense situation in the country where Jack will be stationed next.
CIA operative Jack Ryan (John Krasinski) returns in less than a week and fans are already thrilled to see the actor back in action on the field. According to the official synopsis for Jack Ryan Season 2, the series protagonist will head down to South America to look into reports that Russia is secretly selling weapons to Venezuela.
Apparently, several countries including the United States will rally together to unravel the Venezuelan President's wicked plot to bring stability to his country. The trailer showed Jack and his team are seen arriving in Venezuela that is on the brink of chaos.
At one point, the CIA team is hit by a bomb planted on the street. Injured Jack is seen next interrogating a Venezuelan's military officer about the possible involvement of Venezuela's President NicolasReyes (Jordi Molla) on the attack on the American officers.
It looks like Jim Greer (Wendell Pierce), Jack, and the rest of their team have been instructed to leave the country following the attack but the CIA financial analyst refuses to turn his back on the case. Then, CIA station chief Mike November (Michael Kelly) warns Jack and Jim that they will stay, they will not have any protection and no one will come to save them. Towards the end of the teaser, Jack is seen jumping off a plane in his parachute, diving the deep sea to investigate a mysterious ship, and running after someone on top of the city's skyscrapers.
Jack Ryan Season 2 will kick off with a ship launching a missile in the South China Sea. It turns out it was carrying an unregistered satellite which Greer needs to investigate. Coincidentally, Jack is also looking into the same ship as he believes it to be carrying illegal Russian arms, possibly nuclear weapons, to Venezuela.
Krasinski revealed at the recent NYCC 2019 that Season 2 will be more personal for Jack. It seems like Jack will lose someone close to him in their mission in South America.
Meanwhile, aside from House of Cards actor Michael Kelly, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo actress Noomi Rapace also joined the cast this season. Rapace plays the role of German intelligence agent Harriet "Harry" Baumann.
The TV adaptation of Tom Clancy's novel debuted on the small screen in August 2018. Jack Ryan Season 2 is set to premiere on November 1 on Amazon Prime.
