The mother in Claire will kick in once again in Outlander Season 5 as she will do all she can to protect her family even it could mean separation from her daughter again. Starz has finally dropped the first full-length trailer for the upcoming season and Claire is seen doing exactly that.

The time-travel drama has released a very tense teaser during the New York Comic-Con 2019 and based on the fans' reaction of it, they can no longer wait for the actual season to premiere. In the clip, while Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) are living their lives with Brianna (Sophie Skelton), Roger (Richard Rankin), and their baby at the Fraser Ridge, the Revolutionary war is looming.

Claire feels the guilt of putting Brianna and Roger in danger in the 18th century. It can be recalled that, in the 20th century, she told Bree and Roger about the latter's biological father, Jamie Fraser. Bree and Roger helped her return to the 18th century Scotland to look for the man she loves.

Brianna eventually followed her mother in the past to warn her about Claire's impending death. Roger, then, followed Bree.

In Outlander Season 5 teaser, it seems like Jamie would like his family to leave colonial America because of the imminent war but Claire insists on staying. She, however, will encourage Bree and Roger to return to the future.

In the video, Claire can be heard telling someone that it is her fault they are all in the past and fighting dangers in the woods. She tells the person that she hopes he will not stay. It looks like Claire is talking to Roger.

Roger is, then, seen telling Bree about returning to the future, possibly for the safety of their child. However, Bree is adamant about staying with her parents.

It looks like Claire will be staying with Jamie and uses her knowledge of the future to win the war but it may not be the case for Bree and Roger. Claire can be heard saying "It's time" in the teaser. It could be when the war finally broke out or when Brianna and Roger are about to return to the 20th century with their child through the standing stone.

Meanwhile, in the Outlander Season 5 photos that were shared by Variety, Roger can be seen meeting with Aunt Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy) while Bree is teaching her husband how to fire a musket. In another image, Claire is also seen with blood on her hand. She could be using her medical expertise to save those who get wounded in the war.

The fifth season of Outlander is based on Diana Gabaldon's novel, The Fiery Cross. The 12-episode Outlander Season 5 is set to premiere on February 16, 2020, on Starz.
