The Capture has aired its final episode for Season 1 on Tuesday. The way the audience shared their reactions so far, BBC One might think twice about having The Capture Season 2.

After Season 1 ended, fans were left with too many new storylines that could play out if there will be another season in the future. Is DI Rachel Carey's (Holliday Grainger) real intention is to work in the Correction? Or she is planning something else? What does DSU Gemma Garland (Lia Williams) really mean she when told Carey in the courtroom scene "Imagine if it got out"?

Who is Jessica Mallory (Famke Janssen) talking about when she spoke to Frank Napier (Ron Perlman)? How far can Frank go to protect Correction?

Fans have expressed excitement about Season 2 as they wouldn't allow these questions left hanging in their minds. Fortunately, series creator Ben Chanan has an answer (sort of) to that.

Chanan has spoken about the future of The Capture and what might happen to the characters should the show is renewed for another season. He admitted that they are talking about Season 2 but can't confirm or deny that they will have another outing in the future.

He admitted that he hadn't received a green light for another season, but they are not closing any doors that they may return for Season 2. Nonetheless, he gave out some details on what fans may see should there be The Capture Season 2.

Chanan stressed that should another season is approved, he wants it to exceed what Season 1 has accomplished. Chanan believes that they just barely scratch the surface, and there are more stories to tell in The Capture.

He, however, hinted that fans might not see lead male character Shaun Emery (Callum Turner) again. His fate has been determined, and his story arc had completed in the six-episode pilot season.

Should there be Season 2, Chanan said fans should look forward to Carey as she goes inside the Corrections process. At the end of The Capture Season 1, Carey then agreed to join Correction, but it is also hinted that she has a mission for doing so. It looks like Carey plans to infiltrate the program and undermine it from the inside.

Though Chanan refused to confirm what Carey's last scene mean, he revealed that they shot the particular moment when she walks in and says, "When can I start," 26 times.

"Ambiguity, I'm afraid," Chanan simply replied when asked about that is the meaning of the last scene. Stay tuned here at Business Times for updates about The Capture Season 2.
