However, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s marriage was tested, earlier this year, when reports claimed that the future king cheated on his wife. What made things even worse is the fact that he was alleged to be having an affair with the Duchess of Cambridge’s best friend, Rose Hanbury.
Now, fans of the royal couple claim that the Prince William cheating scandal was reported for one reason — for the media to make money out of it. It’s no secret that the juicer the headline and content, the more attention it would get. Unfortunately, not all people are interested in happy news; some, if not most, enjoy reading the controversial ones.
Royal fans say that there was no sign that Prince William and Kate Middleton were having problems at all, so the only reason why the cheating rumors even started was to flatly sell the papers. “He is so clearly in love with his wife so why would he? It’s just tabloid nonsense to sell papers… happy couples don’t sell papers,” one netizen wrote in an online forum Quora.
Another one pointed out that there was no proof that Prince William cheated on Kate Middleton. It appears that these cheating allegations came out of nowhere, and then the media turned it into a big issue.
One fan even said that Prince William came from a broken family, so he would never let his children feel what he felt when his parents Prince Charles and Princess Diana went their separate ways when he was young. “He knows first hand what it does to children and family’s when parents cheat. He will not risk that on his own family… so stop this slander!” they said.
While these fans made some valid points, one netizen shared on a different post two photos of Kate Middleton looking “defeated” and “exhausted” during the time these Prince William cheating rumors broke. The first photo showed the Duchess of Cambridge looking tired and unhappy while standing beside her husband, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle, who were all smiling. The second photo was a solo shot of Kate Middleton, who looked extremely sad as if she was ready to burst into tears.
Prince William, Kate Middleton, and the Buckingham Palace have never addressed these cheating rumors. Just like any other speculations about the royal family, this has yet to be verified.
