The Tokyo Motor Show 2019 happens later this month, and Yamaha is set to debut a wide range of new electric vehicles. The company will show off e-bikes, electric scooters, and e-motorcycles, stepping forward with its lineup of presentations, which will include two world premiers.

The centerpieces are Yamaha's new urban scooters: models E01 and E02. The E01 is a large e-scooter that's meant to be comfier than your average scooter, making it ideal for longer trips. According to the company, the E01 is at par with a 125cc gas-powered vehicle and has a lot of range, although no specifics were given.

Meanwhile, the E02 is more apt for city driving than off-city journeys. It's more compact than the E01, can run like a 50cc bike, and its battery is removable.

Yamaha announced that it has partnered with Gogoro last year to design its new electric vehicles. Gogoro has been notably working on the development of a swapping battery station network. It could be assumed that the removable battery on the E02 is a product of this partnership.

Alongside the new electric scooters, Yamaha is expected to unveil the YPJ-YZ electric bike. It's capable of running extremely tough rails and "designed with the looks of a race machine riding out on the track." This full-suspension electric mountain bike features a split downtube to hide the battery inside the frame.

Last but definitely not the least, Yamaha will also introduce the Lank Link concept, which is the only model that doesn't need a driver. It's a self-driving model with wheels that can be steered and driven independently, thus granting Yamaha Land Link Concept Autonomous Vehicle the ability to move in every direction.

Yamaha hasn't said a word about a production date, and it's not clear if these concepts will materialize either. But it is impressive to see that a majority of the new vehicles and concepts that Yamaha is showing off fall in the EV sphere.

Yamaha will also have a few more vehicles on display at the Tokyo Motor Show, including some gas vehicles, as well.
