This Is Us Season 4 Episode 5 will be packed with love and meet the parents' moments. Rebecca will be meeting the special someone of her teenage children for the first time, except for Beth, and big reveals are expected to drop in this episode.
In next week's episode of the NBC drama, Rebecca (Mandy Moore) will host a family dinner to celebrate their move to a new house after Jack's (Milo Ventimiglia) death. Teenage Kevin (Logan Shroyer) will bring home his new wife, Sophie (Amanda Leighton).
In the previous episode, Kevin left a voice message to his mother in which he casually revealed that he got married and he needs money. Kevin will attend the family dinner with Sophie in tow. Episode 5 is expected to tell the story as to why Kevin and Sophie decided to get married early and how it factors in their short-lived married life.
Randall (Niles Fitch) will bring Beth (Rachel Hilson). So, she could meet his other siblings. Rebecca already met Beth and her mother, Carol (Phylicia Rashad), in the previous episode when she visited Randall in school.
Kate (Hannah Zeile), on the other hand, will invite Marc (Austin Abrams) to their family dinner. In the teaser for This Is Us Season 4 Episode 5, Marc brings flowers, possibly for Rebecca. Marc will introduce himself to Kate's family as her boyfriend. Kate doesn't seem to expect Marc's remark as she is seen in the trailer with shock on her face.
The episode, titled "Storybook Love," may also shed light on the lingering fans' question on how Rebecca and Miguel's romance started. It can be noticed that in the teaser, all of Rebecca's children have their date except for Rebecca, but Miguel is there.
Meanwhile, in the present timeline, Kevin (Justin Hartley) and Uncle Nicky (Griffin Dunne) will meet Cassidy's (Jennifer Morrison) husband, Ryan Sharp (Nick Wechsler), and her son, Matty, for the first time. It looks like the group will be watching an ice hockey game. Kevin told Cassidy in the previous episode that he will help get Ryan back.
Elsewhere, Randall's (Sterling K. Brown) concern on Deja (Lyric Ross) and her "friend" Malik (Asante Blackk) will be dealt with, but it is not the only problem that the new councilman and Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) will be dealing with in Episode 5. Tess (Eris Baker) will have a panic attack, but when Randall tells her that she should not be scared as it happens to him too, Tess tells him that she doesn't want to be like her father.
This Is Us Season 4 airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC. Episode 5 will be released on October 22.
