Prince William and Kate Middleton are currently in Pakistan for their royal tour. Being one of the most popular and well-loved royal couples, a lot of people were extremely happy with the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in the country.
However, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Prince William did something not gentleman-like. As expected, the future king of England received some backlash over something that he failed to do.
Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived at Islamabad’s Pakistan Monument riding the traditional rickshaw, also called a Tuk Tuk. The Duke of Cambridge got out of the three-wheeled ride first, and then the Duchess of Cambridge went out from the other side then walked around the rickshaw to join her husband.
Some royal fans pointed out that Prince William didn’t open the door for his wife, and they were not happy about it. So, they shared their frustrations on Twitter. “William could have been the gentleman and helped Kate out of the rickshaw,” one wrote. “A real Prince always opens the door for his Princess no matter if it’s a rickshaw door or a car door,” another one share. One netizen then asked, “Why didn’t the Prince open her door?”
It’s no secret that people envision a prince as someone charming and a gentleman. So, when they saw Prince William not opening the door for Kate Middleton, they were disappointed at him. However, just because the Duke of Cambridge didn’t open the door for his wife, it doesn’t mean that he doesn’t respect her at all.
Prince William and Kate Middleton have been married for eight years and have attended several royal tours that they probably got so used to doing from one thing to the next to complete their duty. The pair appears to be very comfortable with each other during these events, without thinking about what they should do to please the crowd.
Meanwhile, some netizens were not really bothered that Prince William didn’t open the door for Kate Middleton, and were just amazed at how good they looked in their garments. “Adorable and amazing Duke and Duchess of Cambridge getting it right against on all levels. Wonderful,” one tweeted. “Can we talk about how awesome William looks. fantastic outfit. These two just shine,” another one posted.
Prince William looked dapper in his traditional sherwani buttoned coat, and Kate Middleton was stunning in a dress in the national colors of dark green.
