Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, recently admitted in a TV interview that she is not doing fine. She also told reporter Tom Bradby, for the documentary Harry and Meghan: An African Journey, that no one has ever asked her if she's OK amid her post-pregnancy experiences and the negative press.
Prince Harry and his wife have been under a lot of media scrutiny since getting married and welcoming their son, Archie Harrison. Fans poured their support for the duchess after she confessed that her mental health is struggling even if she's trying hard to put up a brave front in public.
Not everyone, however, has been supportive of the Sussex royal's struggles. Fans on Quora believe that the responsibility of making sure that she was all right fell on Prince Harry and her friends.
One commenter wondered where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's friends were if no one has asked her if she was doing alright. Another said that she could have also talked to a psychiatrist if she has been having mental health issues instead of waiting for people to ask her about her emotional state.
However, another Quora user said that Meghan Markle was referring to the people in the press who hasn't asked how she was doing and not her family or friends in her admission. She likely made the statement amid the criticisms from the British media, which has been devoid of any kindness for Prince Harry's wife.
Prince Harry also expressed, in the same interview, that leaving the U.K. might be a good idea to get away from the press. He said that uprooting their lives towards Cape Town would be amazing for him and his family.
However, Prince Harry also realized it would cause more issues and judgments if they do decide to move away so they wouldn't be effective in their charity work this way. In the end, he said that they can continue to devote their life's work to Africa even if they won't have to live there.
Meanwhile, following the interview, a source from the Palace confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are going to fly to the U.S. for Thanksgiving and some time off for the holidays for at least six weeks. It will their son's first visit stateside.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have royal commitments until the middle of November. After this, they will be spending time with Doria Ragland, the duchess' mother, in the U.S. to return to London to join Queen Elizabeth for her traditional Christmas lunch with the royals.
