Meredith Grey still has her person as Christina Yang continues to communicate with her in Grey's Anatomy Season 16. While it's been years since they last saw each other, it looks like their friendship is still intact.
In the most recent episode of Shonda Rhime's medical drama series, fans were in total shock when Christina made a quick and "semi-cameo." As it happened, she texted Meredith with a proposal to join her in Zurich after what happened in Grey's Sloan Memorial Hospital.
Grey's Anatomy ended the previous season with Bailey's decision to fire her best surgeons: Alex, Richard, and Meredith. As fans would recall, this is all because Meredith tried to save a life via insurance fraud.
With all of the things that just happened, Meredith is now eager to move forward by calling out justice. She decided to pitch ideas for articles that will catch the attention of many regarding the realities of the current health care system in the country.
The publication, however, published her "entire email," as per People, which contains the details of her "grievances" in the industry as well as in Grey's Sloan Memorial Hospital. The written email became a hit article with its title "Hospital Hell A Grey Sloan Memorial, Fired Surgeon Speaks Out."
Knowing that this will cause a huge conflict among her former colleagues, Christina Yang texted her "person" and checked in on her. She advised that Meredith should now move to Switzerland with her before Bailey kills her.
According to Cartermatt, Christina's text message does not only mean that Meredith's friend was checking in on her. This also went to show how the article became viral that it already reached the other side of the world. Hence, it means that Bailey has already seen the article as well.
Bustle, however, pointed out that Bailey was too "distracted" to put her attention into it. Not to mention, Meredith also showed no interest in her friend's suggestion.
It's not clear yet as to how things will play out between Meredith and Bailey. One thing is for sure, though, Christina has always been around for her friend despite the distance.
This episode of Grey's Anatomy Season 16 caused excitement and shock among the fans and viewers. Many have speculated that this might be a foreshadowing of Sandra Oh's return to the show.
Unfortunately, no confirmation has been made if her role as Christina Yang will be seen again in the show. Although Sandra already cleared everything out that Killing Eve is her "new home" now, fans are hoping that she would make cameos and appear now and then in Grey's Anatomy's course.
