With only a few weeks left before Grey's Anatomy returns on ABC for its newest season, much newer details are becoming more visible these days. And while they are not spoilers that could ruin your interest in the show, these teasers are building the hype up.

Recently, the series creator, Krista Vernoff, sat down in an interview with TV Line. And based on the scope of her statements, it seems that someone from the old cast of Grey's Anatomy will probably return for the new season.

But just like any details that might ruin the fans' enjoyment, the returning cast member has not been disclosed. Besides, Vernoff pointed out that she is still "trying" to get this plan to work out.

Therefore, it only goes to show that this "returnee" is still not yet sure if it will truly happen in the future. Even so, it has also been emphasized that they want it really to work.

Upon the release of these revelations, many fans went on to speculate who this celebrity might be. And based on the general reception as reiterated by Digital Spy, it might be Sandra Oh.

As it happens, many of the fans are hoping for Sandra Oh's comeback on Grey's Anatomy. And in considering that the show is still "close" to her, then there is a huge possibility that she'll return or make an appearance now and then.

But then again, the publication has also pointed out that Sandra already "ruled out" the possibilities of her return on the show. She recently revealed that she has a "new love" now and she wants to "hang out" with this new love.

With these things at hand, it seemingly appears that she already put an end to her possible "comeback." Nevertheless, a lot of people are still hoping. And whatever the case, someone will still return on Grey's Anatomy as revealed by the reports.

Aside from this huge news, Vernoff further went on to claim that the new season is "themeless." Unlike the previous installments of the series, the upcoming run of the show would choose to house various themes and scopes depending on the course and arcs.

She also mentioned that the new season could be all about family, fun, and "expansion," which is a total nod for the upcoming crossover episodes with Station 19.

Grey's Anatomy Season 16 will premiere on September 26, on ABC.
