People sometimes forget that the royal family members are just human beings like the rest of us. They are not invincible; they don’t have superficial powers — they are just people with royal titles.
Despite that fact, people just couldn’t help but be in awe with the royals. The latest topic that royal fans are fascinated about is Queen Elizabeth’s age, and what she does to have all the stamina at her age.
Believe it or not, Queen Elizabeth is already 93 years old. While most senior citizens couldn’t move much anymore, Her Majesty still manages to complete her royal obligations. Because of that, one netizen took to the online forum Quora to ask, “What does Queen Elizabeth II do for her health? She seems pretty fit for a lady of more than 90.”
A couple of royal fans commented on the post. While they have different opinions, most believed that genes had something to do with it. “Longevity is related most strongly to two factors: genes and surviving childhood. She's done well on both. Her mother was over 100. Her father might have lived longer had he not smoked like a chimney,” one replied. “It all happened when she inherited her genes from her mum, who lived to 101. Obviously, good health care helps too,” another one wrote.
However, just because Queen Elizabeth is still healthy at her age, doesn’t mean that she's exempted from feeling ill and having health problems. Her Majesty told a friend last year that her “knees were playing up.”
But, Queen Elizabeth didn’t want to take time off from her royal duties. So, she decided not to undergo an operation. Unfortunately, this choice could worsen her condition, according to a health expert.
“Of course anybody, of any age, who has undergone surgery and then experiences problems with that area should seek medical advice and guidance. It may well be the case that there is not a serious issue here, but that a check-up is needed to ensure everything is okay with the surgery that was completed 16 years ago,” Shamir Patel, leading pharmacist and founder of Chemist 4 U, said.
Queen Elizabeth underwent knee operation in 2003, and since she mentioned that her knees were not doing well, Patel suggested that she should have it checked to save her from a more serious health crisis. The pharmacist then urged Her Majesty to take a break and put her health first.
