Real Madrid is clearing its squad of deadwood and has recently told fringe players that they are free to leave the team. One of the stars that the Spanish giant would like to offload in January 2020 is Brahim Diaz. The 20 years old Spanish midfielder does not appear to be in Zinedine Zidane's plans and was reportedly informed that he is free to leave the club according to several reports.

Brahim Diaz, less than a year ago, was signed from Manchester City in a contract worth £22million. However, his time at Bernabeu was hindered by a hamstring injury in summer. When he recovered, he seemed not to be a part of Zidane's grand plan. Since moving to Real Madrid, Diaz was only able to play 12 games across all competitions and only made one goal this season and has recorded only a couple of assists.

In the previous campaign, Brahim Diaz appeared more in Real Madrid's backend campaign. However, his fall down the pecking order hints that he is considered surplus to the requirements of the Vikings. As reports that the team has already told Diaz, they wish to sell him in January to fund reinvestment in the roster.

It aligns with the same report from Marca earlier in October, which revealed that the playmaker is open for transfer, with Isco and Mariano Diaz, most likely to suffer the same fate. The latest reports also support rumors that Real Madrid is looking at taking Tottenham Hotspur's wantaway star Christian Eriksen and Ajax star Donny van de Beek. This rumor, if accurate, further limits opportunities for Brahim Diaz in Real Madrid.

Last year, Diaz changed his agent, and right now, his father is the one representing him. So far, it is not yet clear if he will leave the club come January to pursue his development and career somewhere else. Isco and Mariano Diaz are out of favor players in Barnabeau who are also feared of being moved in 2020. Isco Diaz is rumored to be a makeweight for Christian Eriksen's arrival at the club.

Manchester City and Arsenal are the teams currently linked with Brahim Diaz. The 20 years old Spanish midfielder just made a couple of league starts this season. he is concerned that his lack of first-team football could affect his role at Euro 2020.
