Kate Middleton had been a subject of pregnancy rumors for quite a while now. Although royal pregnancies are never kept from the public, people just couldn’t wait for an announcement from the Buckingham Palace to speculate about the Duchess of Cambridge’s alleged fourth pregnancy.
Prince William and Kate Middleton have always said that they are open to having a big family. So, they are willing to make their family of five bigger. This revelation led to numerous speculations that the Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant with her fourth child. Given the fact that she will turn 38 years old next year, and it’s difficult for women in their late 30s to conceive, many believe that the couple is in a hurry to add one more baby to their clan.
One netizen took to the online forum Quora to ask, “Would it be irresponsible for Prince William and Kate Middleton to have a 4th child, for both environmental and political reasons?” A royal fan responded that it’s unlikely for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to have another baby because of a large age gap with Prince Louis.
The fan noted that Kate Middleton had previously expressed that her two older children have a great bond possibly because of their close age gap. “At the time I took Catherine’s (alleged) comment to indicate that she might want Louis to have that same bond with a sibling close in age. But my theory has proved incorrect because, given the fact that Louis will be 18 months old tomorrow, the window has apparently closed for an age gap under 2 years,” she said.
Other netizens didn’t directly answer the question but shared their confusion about why it was asked in the first place. “Seriously? Is this what the world has come to?” one asked. “Oh, good grief! What next! If you are going to tell members of the royal family that they must stop having more children then you must be prepared to do the same to the population as a whole!” one wrote.
Meanwhile, a royal expert previously claimed that she had two clues to prove that Kate Middleton is indeed pregnant with her fourth child. Aranzazu Santos Lopez explained that, every time the Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant, she usually changes things up. She, then, pointed out that Prince William’s wife has a different hairstyle while all these pregnancy rumors were going.
“And I have another clue,” Santos Lopez added. “Kate’s agenda is locked. She will take time off, which could mean she is pregnant, considering that her previous pregnancies have been complicated.”
Prince William, Kate Middleton, and the Buckingham Palace have not addressed this matter. Just like most speculations regarding the Royal family, this has yet to be verified.
