It's official! BIGBANG's G-Dragon just completed his mandatory military service and is now ready to return to the Kpop scene.

According to a report by Soompi, G-Dragon received a warm welcome from a huge crowd of 3,000 fans when he was discharged at the military camp in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province on October 26.

G-Dragon addressed his fans and bowed to them in gratitude for their continued support. "I've returned after completing my military service. Thank you for waiting for me and for coming to see me today. I will be returning to my original occupation, and I will work hard," he said.

G-Dragon started his enlistment on Feb. 27, 2018, and served at the White Skull Unit of the 3rd Infantry Division. This unit is known as one of the toughest divisions in the Korean military.

His sister, Kwon Dami, shared her pride at her brother's accomplishment. "D-1 Thankful and thankful again. Good work Kwon Ji Yong," she told her little brother.

Meanwhile, the celebration is not limited to Korea. Chinese fans spared no expense in welcoming back the BIGBANG leader in style. It was reported that fans rented the Shanghai Twin Towers' 360-degree dual-tower giant screen to shine G-Dragon's image and a welcome message for his return. The Shanghai Twin Towers is known for being China's biggest LED lighting area.

The BIGBANG leader now awaits the discharge of Taeyang and Daesung, who will complete their service in November.

YG has not yet announced planned activities for BIGBANG members, but VIPs are already excited for a comeback after nearly two years of waiting for the members to return.

BIGBANG T.O.P was discharged in July and had been focusing on art instead of music. He recently caused controversy when he replied to a basher who wished for him to retire from the music industry. T.O.P. said that he had no intention of staging a comeback.

While it seemed that the comment was merely intended to counter the negative comment, fans worried that his reply indicated T.O.P's reluctance to return to BIGBANG. It can be recalled that he became the subject of a marijuana scandal while he was enlisted as a conscripted police officer.

As a result of the scandal, he was given a 10-month prison term and a suspended sentence of two years. He was unable to return to his unit due to his conviction but resumed his mandatory service as a public service worker at the Yongsan Ward Office.

With Seungri announcing his retirement in the wake of prostitution and illegal gambling allegations and T.O.P implying his lack of interest in group activities, fans fear that BIGBANG would disband altogether or would continue with only three members, Kpopstarz reported.
