Prince Charles has been betrayed by his own son. This is the belief of a royal aide in Clarence House after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released their documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.

According to The Sun, Prince Charles felt "irate" over the controversy involving Prince Harry and Meghan's documentary as it, apparently, stole the thunder from the Prince of Wales' own work. He was in Japan at the time the news broke out about Prince Harry and Meghan and because people were too focused on the Sussexes' big reveal about their struggles as personalities in the limelight, Prince Charles felt that his hard work overseas has been wasted.

Prince Charles also had his own documentary for airing that week, which didn't receive as much viewership or interest from the public. A royal aide told the news outlet that it was one thing for Prince Harry and Meghan to eclipse Prince William and Kate Middleton, who were also on their royal tour of Pakistan when their controversy hit the headlines. It was another thing to undermine their own father, who is also the person partly paying for the Sussex's lifestyle and management of their royal household.

Meanwhile, Daily Mail reported that Prince Charles' documentary was well-received despite a lower viewership than Prince Harry and Meghan's bombshell documentary. Aired in two parts, Prince Charles: Inside the Duchy of Cornwall highlighted his life's work, which also included how he turned his estate into a progressive billion-dollar empire.

Viewers on social media applauded the Prince of Wales for making the documentary about how he's helping people and not about his personal life. He actually discussed so little about personal stuff and instead focused on the people who have benefited from his land.

Fans were also fascinated about how Prince Charles balanced tradition and modernization, as well as business and community in his life's work. In doing so, it showed another side of the future King of England as someone hands-on who cared a great deal for the people.

The second part of Prince Charles: Inside the Duchy of Cornwall, the Prince of Wales talked about Prince William, who will, one day, inherit and take over the Duchy of Cornwall. He admitted he was in tears when Prince William finally expressed interest in learning about what he needs to do to maintain his father's land.

Prince William said that he has no plans of making any major changes to what his father has built. Instead, he will continue to keep learning and working on it just like what Prince Charles has done for 50 years.
