Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal visit to South Africa a few weeks ago may have been overshadowed by some controversies. However, the trip is still considered a royal success. It was also a special time for the Duchess of Sussex as she had photos showing her happiest and prettiest smile while having fun with the locals.
One photo, posted on Instagram, had Meghan Markle with the widest smile on her face. The duchess looked like a delighted child among the company of her "playmates."
Commenters of the social media post, who were mostly from Chile, complimented the duchess for her pretty smile. One even said in Spanish that they, urgently, needed her kind of smile in their country.
Meanwhile, others took note of the Duchess of Sussex's choice of clothes for this gathering. She wore something very basic for a royal -- white collared shirt tucked in black pants and paired with a blue denim jacket. Meghan Markle also had casual tan flats and a gray tote bag. She didn't seem to have any trace of makeup and kept her hair in a messy bun.
According to Hello!, Meghan Markle looked lovely despite her casual clothes. She and Prince Harry were there to meet with the people behind Waves of Change, a mental health organization supporting young people.
However, the duchess had one of her fashion fails in South Africa as well. Royal watchers on Quora remarked that her belted brown one-piece dress with large buttons was a "terrible choice." It was the replica of the dress she wore when she and Prince Harry showed off their son, Archie Harrison, in public for the first time.
The Banana Republic ensemble looks great the way it is but it apparently did not compliment and flatter the shape of the duchess' body. Instead, it made Prince Harry's wife look plumply and heavier than her actual size.
The dress was also the wrong length because it didn't hide her skinny legs while it emphasized her waistline. Royals fans also didn't love the color of the dress as it made the duchess appear bland and boring.
Meghan Markle's fashion choices, however, reflect her advocacy for sustainability. According to the New York Times, she picks clothes from ethical brands and designers that use recycled raw materials or have sustainable business practices. Prince Harry's wife also doesn't shy away from wearing an outfit over and over again.
