That is according to a new rumor seemingly hinting that the game could soon be released in the PlayStation VR platform. The rumor suggests that the major PS4 exclusive "Horizon Zero Dawn" will reportedly become an official franchise by releasing the game to a virtual reality platform.
The rumor is still vague about "Horizon Zero Dawn" being exclusively released for the PlayStation 4 or will wait for the release of PlayStation 5, or will be released on both gaming consoles. The recent claim about the game's virtual reality version stemmed from VR Focus, which cited Twitter user and VR specialist Callum Hurley. Hurley posted a single tweet a week ago teasing about a new exciting PlayStation VR title that will be released from London Studio.
The title "Horizon Zero Dawn" was not directly mentioned in the post. However, the capitalization used at the end of the post seemed like a cheeky nod on what's to come. Following his first tweet about the subject, Callum posted another tweet day after where he responded to a follower who claimed that Hurley was hinting about "Horizon Zero Dawn" as the virtual reality game.

The industry professional simply replied with a gif, but it also seems to reinforce the idea. When the idea became more known, Hurley went back to the tweet to expound the details. He stated that he has not seen the game first-hand, but he trusts his source, which was someone who reportedly got to test the game.

"Horizon Zero Dawn" got impressive reviews when Guerilla Games released it in the early part of 2017. The role-playing game introduced Aloy, a character in the game which is now a part of Sony's list of strong single-player protagonists. Gamers have seen the game's expansion titled "Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds." If the virtual reality version of the game will be announced, it will be the first official follow-up to a title outside of the expansion and into a multi-game series.
While Callum Hurley stated that an announcement could be on the Horizon, there is still no release window for when "Horizon Zero Dawn" virtual reality game will be announced or if it is even real. If the game is indeed in the works, Sony will soon hold an event or announce the game in various media outlets. For now, we suggest taking this information with a pinch of salt.
