There is little doubt that Vikings Season 6 will be the biggest and most action-packed season of the History Channel series. After all, this will be the final season of the beloved show that originally focused on the rise of Nordic legend Ragnar Lothbrok. But did the new trailer for the sixth season just reveal what would happen to Ragnar's beloved Lagertha? There are speculations that the fate of Katheryn Winnick's character was confirmed in the explosive new teaser.
The first trailer for Vikings Season 6 confirmed that the fight for Kattegat is far from over. Although Bjorn Ironside is now the new king, new enemies are emerging and planning to take away his beloved land. It was revealed that Ivar the Boneless has been forced to work with the Varangian ruler Prince Oleg of Novgorod, as he leads the Rus people to attack Norway. In addition to that, there are brief glimpses at a distraught Lagertha, who appears to have accepted her fate.
People have already feared that the first trailer teased on Lagertha's possible death. However, a new teaser may have confirmed the former shieldmaiden will meet her end almost immediately. The new trailer focuses solely on the battle between Bjorn Ironside, Ivar the Boneless, and Prince Oleg of Novgorod. Unfortunately, there is no sign of Lagertha in the trailer.
So does this mean that Lagertha will meet her end early on in Vikings Season 6? Fans have been concerned about this, especially when it was announced that Katheryn Winnick would be directing one of the episodes of the final season. On the other hand, some are hopeful that the former Queen of Kattegat will not give up without a fight. Either way, the upcoming season is going to reveal how Lagertha's story will finally end.
Interestingly, there are speculations that Lagertha's death in Vikings Season 6 will bring back a character that is long gone. There is a possibility that Lagertha might see Ragnar Lothbrok waiting for her in Valhalla, which means that Travis Fimmel could reprise his role as the former King of Kattegat. However, this has not yet been confirmed. So, it is best to take it with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, it would be interesting to see the return of Ragnar in the final season.
Will Lagertha meet her end in Vikings Season 6? Find out when the final season premieres on History Channel on December 4.
