Meghan Markle spoke about how her friends warned her against marrying Prince Harry. She revealed this information in the documentary, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.
The Duchess of Sussex said that, as much as her friends were happy that she's dating Prince Harry, they told her not to get married to him. Doing so would ruin her life because the royals are always under the scrutiny of the media.
Her statement was taken as an admission of regret over marrying a royal. Fans on Quora said that, by publicly admitting there were warnings from her friends, it was like a confirmation of her disappointment.
A commenter also said that to share something this personal was in poor form. It showed that Meghan Markle does not love Prince Harry. She's doing everything on purpose to stay relevant but she will can one day leave or divorce her husband.
However, another commenter said that Meghan will never regret her marriage to Prince Harry as they were meant to be together. What the interview showed was her high expectations of herself as a newlywed, new mother and a new member of the royal family.
To another fan, the statement she said in the documentary interview meant that her friends were right about the press. It wasn't an admission that she had regrets.
Meanwhile, Paul Burrell, Princess Diana's former butler, believes that Prince Harry and Meghan will relocate to the United States for the sake of their marriage. Burell told Fox News that the Sussex royals need space to "to develop as a young family and as a newlywed couple."
He is sympathetic to Meghan because the vitriol from the British tabloid media is similar to what Princess Diana experienced while she was still alive. He's on the side that believes the press has been unfair to Prince Harry and Meghan and, if this continues, the royal family could one day lose the Sussexes.
Burrell also shared that Princess Diana considered leaving the U.K. with her children to take refuge. She planned on buying a house in Malibu and was setting a future there with her sons before it was cut short by her accident.
The former butler is firm in his belief that Meghan will want the same for her son Archie. She will most likely raise her as what he truly is -- half-British and half-American -- so the Sussex family will need a place in the U.S.
