Concerns have been raised over the health of Queen Elizabeth. Talks sparked that Her Majesty was too weak to wear the crown during her last public appearance at opening of the Parliament.
According to reports from the Globe and New Idea, Queen Elizabeth wore a lightweight version of the her Imperial State Crown for her speech because she is, apparently, "terribly ill." The situation stirred up fears that Her Majesty may not live longer because she is apparently secretly suffering from bladder cancer.
The publication went to report that Prince Charles has now "seized control" of her throne as regent, which means this arrangement is only temporary. However, Prince Charles, allegedly, has no plans to relinquish the post he has been waiting for all his life.
Gossip Cop, however, cited that the report is inaccurate as there is no rule or law that would support Prince Charles stepping in as the sovereign. The Queen would have to abdicate if he is to take her post. According to the news outlet, she also appeared to be fine when she gave her speech.
But, royal watchers said that Her Majesty seemed out of breath and looking weak and tired when she was reading her speech at the House of Lords. She also seemed to be sniffling in between, which suggested that the Queen was suffering from a cold.
Queen Elizabeth dealt with worse illnesses than a cold before and managed to recover well for someone who is in her '90s. In 2018, she underwent a cataract procedure and she had a minor knee surgery in 2003. Both times, the Queen was back to her royal engagements in a matter of weeks.
However, she has been enduring some pain in her knees again for quite some time, according to The Sun. Apparently, the Queen told a friend that her knees were acting up again but she is refusing another surgery despite doctor's advice. The Queen, apparently, worries about the time it would take for her to recover if she gets the knee replacement surgery as she does not want to "cause any fuss."
Though no longer as nimble and agile as she was in her youth, Her Majesty still carries on with hundreds of royal engagements every year. In the last few years, she has passed on some of her duties to her son, the heir to the throne Prince Charles. However, the Queen has always said she will never abdicate because being the sovereign is a duty for life.
