It's no secret that Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has had a lot of bad press in the U.K. The former American TV star affirmed in an interview that she's been struggling with how the British tabloid press has been writing stories about her because it's mostly negative.

Some say that the damaging stories about Meghan could be rooted in racism or her status as an American divorcee. Royal watchers on Quora, however, discussed that the intense dislike for Prince Harry's wife has nothing to do with her race or her status, but more to do with her "insincerity" and "hypocrisy."

According to one commenter, Meghan Markle said, in interviews, that she didn't know anything about Prince Harry before dating him when he's one of the most popular people in the world. Another participant in the discussion said that Meghan contradicts herself by saying one thing, such as lecturing people about the environment, and doing another thing altogether, such as taking a private jet that guzzles a lot of gas.

The Duchess of Sussex behaves against the royal grain, which has been causing ripples in the royal family. While some commend how she does things differently and breaks royal protocols, there are some royal traditions that must never be changed with respects to the crown.

Another commenter on Quora said that Meghan Markle is seen as a social climber who uses people to get ahead. Some say she doesn't love Prince Harry but love his title, fame and money.

Journalist Alan Jones, recently, said in his show that Meghan, and to some extent, Prince Harry, does not have any awareness of what's really going on around the world. To say that they are struggling because their public image as royals are being heavily scrutinized by the media was a "self-indulgent rubbish."

He further said that while Meghan and Prince Harry where complaining about their life or that someone hasn't asked if they are OK, they were in South Africa, a country with thousands of poor people. Jones also chided the couple for saying that they would be taking a a six-week holiday in Los Angeles. Most people don't have that privilege.

Despite the criticisms and attacks against Meghan, #WeLoveMeghanMarkle trended on Twitter the night the controversial documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey aired on television. Female politicians in Britain also wrote an open letter to Prince Harry's wife to say that they support their fight against the offensive British tabloid press.
